Bill Falzett is the son of a second generation Italian immigrant. He was raised an Army brat, as both parents served as lab technicians for the U.S. Army. His family moved frequently during his youth in connection with the military service. Though he lived overseas in Germany for part of his high school education, much of his childhood was spent in El Paso Texas, near Fort Bliss. He attended high school at Austin HS in El Paso. Bill continued the family history of military service with a 5 year enlistment in the US Air Force, from 1959 to 1964, where he specialized as a weatherman. After his military service, he returned to Texas to work in the oilfields. He spent time as a roughneck in Louisiana as well. He later returned to El Paso and worked as a lineman for El Paso Electric Company.
Bill began his college studies at Texas Western University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree the year TWU won the NCAA basketball championship. The following year the name of the university was changed to the University of Texas at El Paso. He went on to earn a Master of Arts degree from UTEP. Bill completed his college career and received his PhD from Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin the year they won the NCAA title. Bill has not been able to substantiate a connection between his attendance and the respective NCAA titles, and therefore takes no credit for them.
Bill has been a psychotherapist since 1968. He has worked in clinics, hospitals, mental hospitals, agencies, corporations, the military, state correctional centers, Federal Correctional Institutions, and schools. He has worked as a University instructor at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Bill teaches at Chapman University College, and has been adjunct faculty at the UC-Davis Medical School. He is an Active Staff Member at the Fremont-Rideout Hospitals, and last year he was the chair of the Ethics Forum for the Fremont-Rideout Medical Group. Currently he is licensed by the state of California, and is a practicing psychologist in Yuba County. His practice has been in Yuba City since 1997.
Bill has 2 sons and a step-son and step-daughter. The younger son was on active duty in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne. The elder is a software systems engineer for a large corporation. His step-son is in with the National Park Service in law enforcement and his step-daughter is an executive with a non-profit agency.
Bill has lived in California since 1985. He moved to the Yuba County area in 1999 for the love of the scenic beauty of the area. Bill is a registered Democrat and a member of the Yuba-Sutter Democratic Club.
